There is so much to be done, we are expanding our core team forces. The activities and initiatives of Pebble in the Pond have generated a lot of interest and excitement, and people keep asking us how THEY can get involved and help out.
We have now registered as a non-profit organization, so we can start actually signing members up, and accept membership fees and corporate sponsorships. As we have discovered in the past few months, incremental costs – like display table fees at events, poster/flyer printing fees, biodegradable bags to give out as samples – add up, and we would like to make sure that Pebble in the Pond doesn’t become a financial drain on any one small group of people. Please see the details for membership and corporate sponsorship here. Thank you to Tempco Ltd. and Sunshine Organics for their donations of biodegradable garbage bags for our recent Earth Day Cleanup, and also to Augusta Recyclers for waiving the dump fee for the garbage we collected.
We are in the planning stages of a membership/information session as we would like to organize people who have expressed an interest in being involved into work groups of their choice. We feel like that would be the most efficient way to channel volunteer energies and ensure that we aren’t duplicating efforts. Watch this site for more information on the date for this event.
